FALL SEMESTER CHANGES

Good evening, parents of Scranton Musical Mornings,

I am thrilled to announce that enrollment for the upcoming fall semester is now open! I hope you enjoyed a fantastic summer, and I am eagerly looking forward to resume the music program with you and your children! 

This academic year brings exciting changes to our program. Scranton Musical Mornings is expanding to a full-time operation, which means we will now offer two additional make-up classes during the week to ensure flexibility if any regular Saturday sessions are missed. At this moment in time, we plan to hold the make up classes on a Tuesday morning but this could change in the future. 

Additionally, the class structure will change a little. Rather than categorizing classes by age (e.g., infants, older toddlers), we will now group children into bands based on their skills and musicianship, while still considering age. For instance, if a child is 2.5 years old but is ready for a more advanced class, they will have the option to join a higher-level band. Rest assured, no child will be moved to a class that is not appropriate for their developmental stage.

The new band names are as follows:

Rattle N Shakers (infants)

The Rockin' Rascals (young toddlers)

Tin Pan Toddlers (older toddlers)

Pre-K Pop (pre-kindergarten)

AB/CD (kindergarten and older)

If you are unsure about the best band for your child, please select the 'Other' option on the enrollment form, and I will contact you to discuss further. The class content will remain consistent, but we hope the new band names will add an extra element of fun for the children.

We are also introducing SEND sessions on Friday mornings for children who require special education or have disabilities. These sessions will be held in a dimly lit environment with quieter music, fewer instructions, and a reduced student capacity to create a safe and welcoming space for all.

As we transition to a full-time program and include make-up classes, the semester fee will be adjusted to $70 for the 6-week session. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this change, please feel free to reach out and I'll be happy to help.

September 21st: Dinosaurs

September 28th: Construction & Transportation

October 5th: Baking in the Kitchen

October 12th: Glow Party

Payment is preferred via PayPal to scrantonmusicalmornings@gmail.com, with a total of $71.95 ($70 tuition + $1.95 transaction fee). Cash payments are also accepted.
